The new posts section in forums home page doesn't seem to update. They're hours behind actuality

    It's working fine for me.

The latest "New Post" coming from the forums home page just now was Mouse's in the Chrons Christmas Card thread, and I checked and sure enough she'd posted only a minute before.

Is it a caching issue perhaps? (I've no idea what one of those is, but it's regularly offered as an explanation so I thought I might as well be the first!)

EDIT: I've just realised I probably misunderstood the "New Posts" aspect. I use the button on the grey menu bar at the top, but I just glanced at the box on the right hand side and I see that although at present it's got this post of mine heading it, under it is Montero's on the Booklike query from 4.16, so that definitely looks odd! No idea what's going on there, then!

In case it's of help, here's the screen grab, Brian:

I'm on mobile and I noticed that section looking different earlier, and now looking at it properly, it seems to showing an odd selection of posts. Judge's here at the top, but then two from 4pm, one from 11am this morning and then randomly one from 5pm at the bottom.

Edit: looks like I have the same as Judge :D

That sounds like a caching issue - basically, if you're continually looking at the homepage, your browser is going to serve up the original copy of it to save on processing.

This sometimes causes confusion among the mods, such as when a spam post is removed, yet it still shows on the forum homepage - it just because their browser is still serving the same cached version from before the spam was removed.

    Hope that helps. :)

If it's a caching issue, it seems odd that it should happen to all of us now (or to me too, at least) when it never has before, as far as I've noticed.

Same for me too. Mine currently shows one from 2 hours ago, then Harebrain's post above (listed as "2 minutes ago" although I wasn't online at the time), then another from 3 hours ago, then 2 from 8 hours ago.

Still playing up here. It doesn't worry me as I never use it, but if it is a caching issue, wouldn't the New Posts box look the same as it did before? Instead it's:

I've just cleared my cache for here and it's still the same. And is the same list as what Judge has.

I must agree. Something really weird is happening with new posts section.

Right, looks like an addon I was trying out was messing with the "New Posts" list on the forum homepage - I think it was listing "New Threads" rather than posts.

Have disabled it, so should now be back to normal. :)

Really? The new posts on the home page matches the "new posts" list, as far as I can see.

It's got a slightly different look, but the times and posts are right.

Not sure if this is related, or if anyone else is affected, but my profile summary is appearing twice (have tried both in Chrome and FF just to be sure)

I've been experimenting with some template settings - apologies for that. :)

Thanks! For a second there I thought it was the San Miguel I'd been drinking ;)
