Disclosure- The author sent me a copy of the story to read.

This is the second thing of Mr. Mullins that I have read and I have enjoyed both. This is a short story. My reading time was 30 minutes which to me is the perfect time for a short story.

The story is told through the perspective of two people. The primary character is a US air force pilot. The secondary character is a British mom living in NYC. The plot without getting to spoilerish is there is a virus that is causing havoc in NYC and starting to spread despite quarantine. The Air Force sends in a single plane to drop an experimental bomb. What the bomb is supposed to do is pretty interesting, but there are unintended consequences.

This may be the only problem I had with the story as I think the unintended consequence doesn't seem like a scientific possibility. Then again, I'm a CPA and not a scientist so what do I know. :)

I was wondering if this could be adapted to a novel, but I think it works very well as a short story.
