I know he was an experienced actor who played many roles, but I'll always remember him most like this:

Apparently he was Gene Roddenbury's first choice for the role. He had a respectable track record in shows like 'The Twilight Zone' and 'Outer Limits'. I saw a repeat many years ago of 'The Man Who Was Never Born' (Outer Limits) in which he played a mutated man and acted wonderfully through a full face disfiguring makeup - The Man Who Was Never Born - Wikipedia

A friend of mine worked with him
on a TV production about 10 years ago. Something biblical, I think, and the shooting was quite isolated, so the cast and crew all spent a lot of time together when not filming. The main thing that Landau talked about was the fact that he had once shagged Marilyn Monroe.
