W H Smith what should I buy

It was my birthday three days ago. Amongst my gifts I got £30 of gift vouchers for WH Smith's.
Bearing in mind that for a couple of years I've bought mostly online Amazon etc or browsing in used book shops, I'm no longer accustomed to physically picking a new book off a shelf.
Anyone got a recommendation for a stand alone space opera or mil sci fi novel? One published newer than say March 2016?

Will you be using the WHSmith vouchers online, or in a physical shop?

Just that if it's the later, you may have limited options - unless you're able to order paperbacks through them.

In the shop Brian, going into town Saturday.
If I used them online I'd probably have to register for an account with WH Smith and tbh I got a notebook full of 'one-off' registrations and password details for different shops.
Pig sick of all these firms I used once years ago happily spamming up my email accounts.
Then again I may find such a poor instore choice I'll have no options but to online it
