    The latest 300-worder is up.

    As always with the longer form, entries can be posted from the 10th of the month (in this case January), but that doesn't mean no-one can talk about the challenge until then.

    And as ever, the image is only there to provide inspiration; your story does not have to reference it, even indirectly.

    I can't see it either - on an HP laptop.

    I can see it, but I think that's because I'm a mod -- if I don't log in as me, then there's just a box with an [ IMG ] notice which does nothing.

    And (only now) I know why.

    Normal service will be resumed shortly....

    Didn't you get the memo?

    I'm worried about the bird that must be sitting on top of the north end of the horse headed north.

    The poor thing is missing something I think. I'll give it a go.

    Nice.

    I have a 'tone' and one line. I'm guessing my muse will be a bit more proactive by the deadline.

    @Phyrebrat --- Is that a dial tone or a skin tone? :p

    It's an ethereal nebulous tone ;) my only other tone is rudeness (according to my mum)

    Been a while since I've done one of these, but I think I'm up to the challenge! I've got a silly little idea I might run with. :)

    Nice pic, HB. No ideas yet but I'm sure something will strike soon.

    There's a ridiculous danger of me posting on the first day the challenge opens! I'm 312 words ATM so just need a little chop hither and thither.

    I haven't posted in one of these for years, but if the muse should strike....
