It's too early to come to any conclusions, but I'm unsure about this at my most optimist. In my eyes, GITS has always been more about exploring ideas and the future society. So far, the trailer seems to lean heavily on making it all about Motoko. Hollywood has an obsession with watering down/simplifying plots in this manner. But then again, too early to tell.

I started watching the trailer before, but the attempts to make it look as though Scarlett Johansson was running around naked (albeit in a skin tight flesh-coloured suit) and then having a lesbian kiss made me feel like I was watching soft porn for young boys, and I ended up having to switch it off.
