Buffy HD comes to Netflix, results in complaints

There were apparently complaints when Fox released a HD version of Buffy on the Pivot channel - now it's replaced the original version on Netflix to some complaint.

Well, I'm just glad I saw the whole thing on TV in its first run and have all the original US DVDs I want, so I'm good. But, yes, it is a blasphemy (especially the non-4x3 thing which every Buffy-fan knows violates the gospel according to Joss) and all fans should rise up and mock those remasters with our monkey pants!

This has been increasingly upsetting to me. As someone who has been watching Buffy since it originally aired, I don't get the same joy out of watching the HD remasters on Netflix or Hulu. They keep getting brighter, which takes away from the dark, horror atmosphere. Some of the scenes in season 1 now look like they are bathed in artificial spotlights (I'm sure they are, because Hollywood, but now it LOOKS it).
