Title pretty much covers it. It's really all I remember - some kid or kids getting wisdom from a guy named Dorcas who was blind and they were all on the good ol' Mercury. IIRC, it was in one of those hardcovers where the cover art was on the boards and it didn't have a dustjacket or anything. Maybe part of a series kind of like an SF version of Hardy Boys stuff.
Not by a regular big name SF author or anything but not totally obscure, either, in that I found it once online but I've forgotten it again and can't find it this time. I know it's in my billion bookmarks somewhere, but I can't even find it there.
