And the 16p was only for 14 books sold at Waterstones that they took 90 days to pay...sigh.

"Net sales" is the price at which the publisher sells the book (to the wholesaler, etc, or from their own website). This is list price less any discounts.

Also, this was stick for a one off event that a lot of effort by the shop made a success. Ever snce then Waterstones have continued to stock and support me, replenishing from LS when I sell through and I'm very grateful to them for that support.

I think from a promo point of view Waterstones/Easons are great, and supportive. From a business point of view there is not much left for the press or author but Jo does have the claim to be a Waterstones top ten seller so maybe in the long run it will be worth it.

And Easons, in particular, have supported in terms of access to events and conventions. All of which makes me happy! Which is a big hint to ask for the thread to go back on track :).
