Star Trek: Discovery - new series in 2017

That's Saint Francis' Day (patron saint of writing. Planning a sale then).

Star Trek: Discovery, CBS's new series planned for its streaming All Access app, has been delayed again. After being announced to debut this month, the series was pushed back to a May premiere. CBS now says the premiere date is "flexible."

"Production on Star Trek: Discovery begins next week. We love the cast, the scripts and are excited about the world the producers have created," said a CBS statement released to The Hollywood Reporter. "This is an ambitious project; we will be flexible on a launch date if it's best for the show. We've said from the beginning it's more important to do this right than to do it fast. There is also added flexibility presenting on CBS All Access, which isn't beholden to seasonal premieres or launch windows."

In addition to the delay, CBS has announced that James Frain will join the cast of Star Trek: Discovery as Sarek, Spock's father. Sarek was originally portrayed by actor Mark Lenard in the original series, as well as the feature films starring the original cast. Ben Cross took the role for 2009's film series, which rebooted Star Trek with a new cast. Sarek's role in Star Trek: Discovery is not yet known.
'Star Trek: Discovery' Delayed, Classic Character Re-Cast

I've merged a new thread that was begun.
Does anyone have any inside scoop when this show will start?
Now they are saying late summer, early fall. However, it was originally January and has been put back two or three times already, so I wouldn't put money on it. Filming has begun, so something is going to be shown eventually, in some form or other.
