Hi everyone, long time no see. :)

Was just having a chat with a friend and we were speculating about the end state of Westeros. He was asking me how will Jon be legitimized and accepted as King and wouldn't it be cool if Jon and Dany formed a new house combining the wolf and the dragon.

My take is, based on what we know from GRRM, the war with the white walkers will basically decimate everything. I think there will not be any great houses left when it's all said and done. And with no noble houses left standing....will there be a need for a king or a queen?

I'm wondering if Jon and Dany won't end up installing a whole new system of governance. There's an interesting model at the Wall....they choose their leaders using "one man, one vote"...something nowhere else appears to use.

Is Jon bringing Democracy to Westeros?

I want to see a return to faction kingdoms. Not sure if that is the way Martin is heading, but in my heart of hearts, it's what I hope for. I think there is a poetic irony if Aegon the conqueror came to westeros with dragons and united the kingdoms, and Dany goes to westeros with dragons and divides them again. Although right now they are pretty divided as it is. Maybe her arrival will unite the kingdoms once again to fight against the white walkers.Who knows*

Rickon, the king in the north, is the only king I mean to bend the knee for.

*Martin. Martin knows

I expect it to be a monarchy rule. Perhaps something along the lines of enlightened absolutism like that of Maria Theresa or Catherine the Great. Several of possible candidates would fit the bill well enough then and I'm not sure who I want to see there. Perhaps AegonxSansa or DanyxJon, but I doubt the former because it mostly relies on wishful thinking on my end in part and in part on the fact that their character development mostly relies on being groomed for those positions and I doubt the latter with the way their story-lines are being played out as competent saviours and not really competent rulers.

I do want The North for Rickon though.

That would be poetic, I agree, but unfortunately Aegon doesn't have dragons. I thought I read something about a theory that there are latent or unhatched dragons at Dragonstone, but I don't remember if that pertained to Aegon in any way. Personally I'm not sure Aegon really is who he thinks he is, or that there's any way he could prove he's the real deal. That's the thing that will dog him, because most people are going to question how he could simply resurface 20 years later, appearing seemingly out of thin air with a considerable army at his back.

Whereas with Daenerys, no one disputes she's a Targaryen, or that she has a claim on the throne, because dragons. But more than that, it was always known that Daenerys and Viserys were smuggled out of Westeros and survived.

Brandon the Broken in the North, with his brother Rickon (waiting in the wings), Jon as a Lord of the New Gift and 2 sisters holding titles.
Petyr (Baelish) Arryn (descendant of the Gulltown merchant Arryns) as Lord of the Vale.
Kevan Lannisters sole surviving son as Lord of Casterly Rock.
Dany as Queen of the Seven Kingdoms with Aegon Blackfyre and Tyrion Targaryen as her consorts.

Sorry to be the thread necromancer again, but Rickon and his story arc have been buzzing round my head: Rickon's story is a Shaggy Dog story. I refuse to acknowledge any differing argument on this. I'm not sure how his Shaggy Dog story will end but this is my best guess: I think he will be found by Davos, brought to White Harbour, declared King of the North by house Manderly only for everyone to declare him a fake, then he'll get sick and die. Or something similarly anti-climactic.

I don't think Faegon will succeed. Danearys has been warned about him twice (vision of the cloth Dragon and the Mummer's Dragon) and I think she's clever enough to deal with him.

Danearys, I think is going to die. I think Jon will be the third Fire to be lit and the third betrayal, and Danearys is Nissa Nissa to Jon's Azor Ahai. But I don't think he will literally stab her in the chest, he will break her heart and in so doing cause her death.

So, in short, I think we will have a return to the Septarchy, King Jon Stark (legitimized by Robb and his true parenthood kept secret) in the North, King Harrold Aryn in The Vale, King Edmure Tully in the Riverlands, King Edric Baratheon in The Stormlands, Princess Alysanne in Dorne, King Aurane Valareon of the Eastern Isles, King Tyrion Lannister of the Westerlands and Queen Asha Greyjoy of The Iron Islands. In The Reach I'm not actually quite so sure of house Tyrell's survival, I'm picking up a vibe that they might get wiped out...

No Dany has dragons. the original Aegon the conquorer united the 7 kingdoms way back in the day by coming to westeros with dragons. now Dany is coming to westeros with dragons and she will split the 7 kingdoms again.

Aegon is a fake. It is known

I like it. And it wouldn't be the first time the lords of the reach were wiped out.

I think the White Walkers take over and kill all the humans. It was their planet to begin with.

when was it ever their planet?
At least in the tv stories there is some implication that the present Westerosi came from somewhere else. Maybe somewhere else on the planet or somewhere else in the cosmos and they fought with the White Walkers for domination and then placed them beyond the Wall.

Or not, I hope they go into that more in the finale but I think they will save it for upcoming books and specials

So, the books: I still subscribe to the reestablishment of the septarchy: Rickon Stark/ Jon Stark as King of the North, Harrold Arryn King of The Vale, Edmure Tully King of the Trident, Tyrion Lannister King of the Westerlands, Edric Baratheon Storm King, Arianne Martell Princess of Dorne, Asha Greyjoy Queen of the Seastone Chair and perhaps Aurane Waters as King of the Narrow Sea. The Reach will split into four of five minor kingdoms because the Tyrells won't be able to keep things together...

Everybody can relax now... I'm here...

Okay.... Let me get this whole thing sorted out...

First of all...

Eggy the Conq showed up and replaced the Gardeners with the Tyrells, the Hoares with the Tullys, and gave the Baratheons to his ******* brother. We learned this information way back in AGOT, iirc, when Tyrion reflected how glad he was that the Lannister King duly bent his knee and survived.

Here's my earth shattering prediction.... look for nobles to bend the knee or die.

Tyrion's already bent the knee to Dany.

The rest of the Lannisters and Baratheons need to win to live.

The same is most likely true for the Tyrells, Greyjoys, and Freys.

Since all Starks are presumed dead, look for someone to force a husband on Sansa to steal the North. Oh, wait, the Lannisters already did that. I wonder if Tyrion mentioned to Dany that he already claims Winterfell when she promised him Casterly Rock. Oh, and if she's Robb's heir... and little lord Robert's as well.... That's up to Dany.

I could see Dany giving Margaery and the Reach to Jorah... or Daario.

If Faegon would bend the knee to Dany, he could be given Sansa and the North, or Margaery and the Reach, or Myrcella and the West. But he'll probably want to be king... or at the very least consort.

My next point...

The War with The Other is the real problem, if Westeros is to survive, then they must be united in their defense... I think this means religion.... maybe all the prophecies of all the religions come true... e.g. TPTWP is the Stallion who mounts the world who is AAR who is the King in the North who is the three headed dragon who sits the Seastone Throne.... I dunno, but whoever kills The Other or turns back the horde of Others will have some very powerful magic or divine blessing.

So Westeros may end up divided politically, but I think the supernatural defense of the kingdoms will unite the people in common goal.

And in conclusion...

The Seven Kingdoms may or may not be united under the Iron Throne.

My work here is done.

You're welcome.

Huh, didn't they (in the tv show)

show some first man possible a brandon stark being made into the night king by the children of the forest. meaning the children made the white walkers. As a final desperate weapon against the first men who were invading westeros.

Narky, "Welcome to the club!" Welcome to the wonderful world of quoting yourself. Is it old age? Arrogance? Ignorance? Incompetence? Don't worry about it.... I never do.

Kiwi, it's hard to remember the show. In last season's dead pool, I bet my friends that Jojen would die.... not realizing he died the previous season. The show (and I know it's based on GRRM's gratuitous deaths, plots, sex and violence) is excessively gratuitous in it's deaths, plots, sex and violence.
