Bradley Cooper bringing Hyperion series to TV

Let's see:

Actor who writes, directs, and stars in project. Check.
Difficult subject matter. Check.
Been in development hell for years. Check.
Only SyFy will produce it. Check.

I'm calling it. :poop:

I doubt he stars in it. Cooper is an A-lister these days. He doesn't have time to star in a TV series.

It's good to see a star use his influence to get a difficult project like Hyperion green-lit. That's often the only way these things get made.

Im hopeful that it might be at least entertaining . But I'm not holding my breath.:)

Is there any news on this?

I've finaly finished The Fall Of Hyperion and can kind of see it restructured as a series of 4 films but I'm worried about it as a TV series. I'm worried it would become popular after a first season, they'd see dollar signs then try and stretch it out, where as a set of films will mean they tell it self contained as it should be without embellished character stories flying off in all directions with random flashbacks like lost. I think that The Hyperion Cantos is the first thing I've read since a small boy, reading Lord Of The Rings, that I'm desperate to see realised. And I wasn't as dissapointed as I thought I'd be by LOTR, I was with the hobbit though.
