The Thread of Abandoned Places

That pic of Vardzia reminds me of the USA's Mesa Verde National Park and Chaco Canyon. There are around a hundred of these sites in the Park, and similar structures abound from southwest Colorado into Utah, down into Arizona and New Mexico. Widely considered to have been the ancestors of the Pueblo peoples.
