Television Shows That Stay Around Way Too Long

TV shows basically have two fates - overstaying their welcomes or being cut down too early. Not saying there isn't one, but I can't think of a single show that ended just right.
Personally, I thought the second Bob Newhart show ended perfectly.

In case you don't know what I am referring to:
Bob wakes up from a dream and turns to his wife, who was the actress from his first show!

I do remember that one. Brilliant ending !

For too long, I really think M*A*S*H is the classic example. Not only did it far exceed the length of the Korean war, It had turned into a constant whine about something after Wayne Rogers left.

I actually liked Mike Farrel , Harry Morgan and David Ogden Stiers .

Bur yes, the show did overstay it's welcome just a bit. :)

The Beverly Hillbillies was basically a fish out series and it ran from 1962 to 1971 and quite frankly got stale after season 2.
