Louis Wu, Inconsistencies

I've read Ringworld a multitude of times, and I've noticed some inconsistencies regarding Louis G. Wu. For example, in the first book, they say his eyes have "no discernable slant" and in Ringworld Throne, Vala says that Wu definitely has Asian eyes. In Children, he chooses an Asian-sounding name because he was trying to hide his identity, indicating that he does look Asian.

I've yet to read the fourth Fleet book, but I'm not sure I want to. The first two really let me down with the alteratin of the Outsiders' history, and I wasn't too impressed with any of the Ringworld sequels. Howeve,r I did enjoy the first book, and I heard the fourth Fleet book had Louis's background, so I'm probably going to read it.

I just hope he doesn't turn Protector again and then lose his memory.

I enjoyed the first book, but only got half way through the second one.
I still think Larry Niven is a great storyteller though.
