The Year of the Flood is set in a world that has been ravaged by a man made plague and where now only a few survivors exist.

The story follows two woman Ren and Toby who come from very different backgrounds, they have been thrown together and in order to survive have to work together.

It is a vision of a post apocalyptic world where everything that humans has relied on, no longer exists a world order has taken off and that is chaos.

But despite this terrible new world, the Year of the Flood appears to be something of a comedy, not in the humorous sense, but more like a black comedy as you would expect from a story that starts with the death of billions of people.

This story is a vision of survival, no matter what the cause or the outcome, survival is the key.
