There are plenty of science films and stories that could use bring updated to the present day and John Wyndham’s 1950’s classic “The Day of the Triffids” is probably not one of those that would be at the top of the list.
It was tried before by the BBC in 1981 and yet last night saw the premiere of the first instalment of the two part series based on the John Wyndham novel.
In actual fact the story and characters work fine with the effects of a devastated England. However for me there is one thing that is of great concern and that would be the Triffids, is it just me or do the plants look like they are wearing “Hoodies”?
Out of all the cast, it is Eddie Izzard’s character Torrence, that shines the brightest so far at least.
