John Saul

What do people here think of John Saul?

I'v been seeing his books around stores a lot lately, new and used. But I don't hear his name mention, at all really. I picked up a book of his called Darkness, which I thought looked pretty cool.

He seems like a Koontz/Straub/King type horror author. How are his books? Are any of them scary? Because I'm rarely scared by Horror novels (King has NEVER scared me), although I'v enjoyed many.

Who would you compare John Saul to? What are some of his better novels?

Scary? No. He IS, however, entertaining.

I downloaded a few of his samples and one that gripped me so far is called Creature. Has anyone read him yet? Are his books good?

I used to read him a lot but after awhile I found his books repetitive. He is obsessed with children, are any his books not about kids ?

I liked Nathaniel and thought it a good book..

Somehere I have the entire Blackstone series of stories by him .
