Lucasfilm shows off rendering in real time

That's quite something. I wonder if the acting in large effects movies will improve as a consequence of this new software?

I heard Some Guy On TV say that within 10 years we would have desktops as smart as people (now, they're about as smart as lizards according to, though I think my iguana is smarter than me).

I think that very soon we will have home software allowing us to write our own movies, specifying stage directions and dialogue with our choice of actors, scenery, fx, etc and produce the whole thing on our telephones, with no other human interaction involved.

I read elsewhere that this is more for gaming than movie making. On youtube it's says for the Star wars game 1313 or something like that. Still impressive as that means hand animating characters is maybe a thing of the past. Sad for those who will lose their jobs as a result of this new tech. I also liked the interaction with the boxes when the guy "kicked" them.
