The Bathroom

In all the times I've watched a Star Trek episode or film, I've yet to see a scene done in the bathroom. The nearest I've come to seeing something nearing it is when Troi and Ryker are bathing together in Star Trek: Insurrection. I think it was the movie in which Ryker shaves off his beard.

Anyway, there have been some scenes done in bathroom in some of the series. I do remember in Star Trek: Voyager, where B'Elanna Torres did use the sonic shower, so there may be some other scenes done. I suppose Kirk opening the built-in the wall toilet while he with Spock and McCoy were in the brig, in Star Trek V: The Final Frontier don't count?

Oh! And don't forget in Voyager's Caretaker episode, Neelix was having a bubbly bath when Tuvok came in to talk ask him for some information.

There you go, there must be a few more scenes done in bathrooms in all of the series together.

In TNG :The Cost of Living they take a holographic bath together if that counts.

I have a vague memory of a scene in Next Generation where someone was in their living quarters and a sink came out of the wall as an when needed. Maybe the rest of the bathroom fixtures were hidden the same way.

In the TNG episode "Genesis", the crew de-evolves into more primitive life forms. Deanna Troi was found in her bath tub in amphibian form.

There was another episode - I believe 1st or 2nd season - where Data decided to grow a beard and he invited LaForge and Troi into his quarters to get their opinions (they laughed at him). I believe he was admiring himself from his bathroom mirror.

You keep all your mirrors in your bathroom?

Most of us would have a mirror here and there, a mirror do not always have to be limited to the bathroom, in most of those Star Trek series and shows, those mirrors can be seen anyway, in the bedroom, in the living room, not just limited to the bathroom, even Dr McCoy got a mirror hung up in an odd place, as one rapidly aging female crew member remarked "Stupid place to hang a mirror" IIRC.

Maybe in the 24th Century, we'll evolve past the need for such bodily functions.... as to what happens to our food, it's anyone's guess

Har! I just remembered that "Scotty" was once a well known brand name for a bathroom tissue product.
