What's Lovecraft's neighborhood like now?

I've never been there, but would be curious about what his neighborhood(s) would be like today. The matter popped into my thoughts after I happened to see this

about a town 15 miles or so from Providence.

Wilum Pugmire has been there not too long ago; he has posted a picture of himself standing in front of one of HPL's residences. From what I understand, there have certainly been changes, but there is also a fair amount which HPL would recognize were he to visit the town today....

I'll second that -- it is amazing. You can "visit" all the houses HPL lived in in Providence, except the house where he was born (if I have oriented myself correctly there is a Starbucks there, and considering HPL's fondness of really sweet coffe I don't think he would have disapproved completely).

I think I read somewhere that Benefit Street -- described somewhere as "the finest mile of colonial architecture in New England" -- actually looks better today than in HPL's day because of extensive restoration, but I couldn't swear to this.
