I'm looking forward to reading it very much, and expecting some pretty climactic battles.

I thought it was slightly better than Desert Spear. There was definitely some big battles and Arlen finally reveals what he's capable of. There was also a face off between the Warded Man and the Deliverer. Speaking of which, there is less Jardir and Abban in this book and more Innerva and her plotting. There's also a lot of Renna in this one. The book ends in something of a tv style cliffhanger, which is somewhat unusual.

Its supposed to be a 5-book series, if I recall rightly...

Loved the first two books. Looking forward to this one!

Only read the first book and thought it was great, still need to play catch up on book 2

Book 1 was better than 2. Brett fell into some obvious writing traps, imo, and he totally blew an opportunity to really explore some of the religious divisions (and problems caused by organized religion) in his world, that reflects our own. Just used the faith issues as a weak plot device, instead of the explosion that it could have been...
