I've read thousands of Sci Fi books, Library ,borrowed, and owned. There is one I cannot remember much about except for these items, each of which I'll post a question about which might jog someone's memory.
1:Sport Yacht, hunting trip, 7-8 people. Yacht name M? something?
2:Landing on earth like planet that has like 7 food grains common to Earth and many other planets along with ancient ruins.
3: Alien ship lands, looks like a slug-possibly the aliens also, attacks the humans.
4: Humans escape to space and enter FTL damaged, and are tracked in FTL which is supposed to be impossible.
5: Repairs, set down on another planet, followed by "Slug Ship", meet with miniature humans, find out about a Galactic war that the "Slugs" won.
6: Conflict, take off, realization that their "Garbage Disposal" which works only in a vacuum and only on organic matter will destroy the " Organically grown Slug Ships", rigs it to radiate from the hull of their metal spaceship and destroys the "Slug ships" and heads to Earth to spread the news.
I bought this book mid to late 60's and lost it somewhere during my college years. I would dearly love to read it again, any help would be appreciated. The crew included at least one female, an archaeologist/ scientist, and a big game hunter. Thanks, silversmith69.
