Quick question, having never read any Guy Gavriel Kay before now, which book would you recommend I read first?

I started with Tigana and thought it was fab.

Tigana's the first (and to date only) book of his I've read, and I enjoyed it a lot.

I started with Tigana as well. It's a fine place to start. For someone with less of a fantasy background I might recommend Lyons of Al-Rassan to start. Either one will do just fine.

Congratulations. Big things are ahead of you :).

Lions of Al-Rassan for me!

Tigana is a *bit* more traditional fantasy, IIRC. A bit of a bridge in his writing style between the Tolkien-heavy Fionavar trilogy and the later works like Sarantine Mosaic (which is also wonderful)

Tigana is an incredibly god book. :)

Just finished reading Tigana, my first foray into GGK and I loved it. Waiting for my wages to clear before I buy another one of his to read!
