    Very interesting, that. I've not really looked into Tolkien's letters (save for the volume published many years ago), but it might be something I'd like to do later on. Is there a particular resource or two you would suggest?

    On a related note... on your research on the Tolkienian blurbs, you mention that you hadn't seen some of the Eddisons. I have copies of the first Ballantine printings of all the Eddison set, and only The Worm Ouroboros and Mistress of Mistresses mention Tolkien on the cover....
