I had to create this thread because this author deserves one. If there's already one then that's cool but I with my feeble powers couldn't find it.

I tell you, if I could write like this guy I would be insanely happy.

Here's where hopefully we can discuss plot points etc - there's a lot of them.

I'll begin with:

In what way could Locke and Jean have successfully stolen the real paintings? What ways could they have used to check the paintings they did manage to nab were fakes before stealing them?

What is Locke Lamorra's real name? - are we ever going to find out - and what do you think is on that island?

The antidote scene....plot-holes?

Also, we could discuss crime in fantasy writing?

There are a number of threads on Scott Lynch, actually. The search function suffered when the site was rebuilt after an attack some while back, so you have to take the long way around and use Google, typing in the name or keywords you are looking for and sffchronicles.

Here are some of the threads, in case you would like to read them:

Crime in fantasy writing sounds like a good idea for a separate thread.

Thanks Teresa - will look at those threads.

yep - maybe I will start one on crime in fantasy... would be interesting to see, as you say.

There is a lot of crime in scifi - in fantasy not so much unless you count treason and plotting to usurp a throne.

What about all of the thieves and assassins? I would say that there is plenty of material for discussion.

Hiya Grimbear, just a heads up as to a couple of other threads on these books (it was not too long ago that I read the books and painstakingly scoured the threads).

There's the Hoopy one's contributions...

...which, I think, along with Teresa's pointers, pretty much covers all the currently available Lynch threads.

Unless of course, you like a good quote...:D
