NewCon Press' latest anthology, Further Conflicts, is available to preorder.

I'm delighted to say that the book includes stories from Dan Abnett (the UK's top selling SF author for the past couple of years), South African author Lauren Beukes (whose latest novel Zoo City is causing such a stir), established genre masters such as Adam Roberts, Tony Ballantyne, Eric Brown and Andy Remic, as well as a stonking story from the Chrons' own Stephen Palmer, an author I've long admired and am thrilled to be working with.

Full details available here: Further Conflicts : NewCon Press

Within these action-crammed pages the intrepid reader will discover:

· A gritty view of a beleaguered army unit fighting a very alien war and mourning one of their own;
· The chilling fate of those crewing a Russian ice submarine in a dystopian world;
· A view inside the powder-keg environment of an alien prison installation;
· The experiences of a war artist in a disturbingly plausible future;
· A Welsh pub under siege in wholly unexpected fashion;
· A warrior returning home from galactic conflict only to face his greatest ever challenge;
· Ridgeway school, which must somehow survive an attack by the dreaded Harvesters;
· A missionary doctor harbouring an alien fugitive contrary to all advice and reason…

And much, much more…

15. About the Authors

That's quite a stable of writers, Ian (hmm.. is that the right term, stable?). I've been reading the first Conflicts recently and will most assuredly be picking this one up at the next convention I happen to go to.

Is that an Andy Bigwood cover, by the way?

Yes, Jim, featuring the same dart fighters that appeared on the cover of the first book, which, incidentally, is up for a BSFA Award for best artwork.
