Hey,

I was at Waterstones yesterday, and Abercrombie will sign The Heroes (hardcover, half-priced !) on Wednsday:
WATERSTONE'S LIVERPOOL ONE
Wednesday, 2 February 2011, 12:30PM

Other dates and locations for signings are here:

Books, Textbooks, eBooks and eReaders at Waterstones.com

Quick question: Does anyone know if The Heroes is self-contained? I'd like to try Abercrombie (especially if I can get a signature), but I don't want to jump into a series.

It is a stand-alone book, but I don't know if I'd recommend reading it before The First Law trilogy or Best Served Cold... it is set a good 5 or 6 years after the trilogy, but if you then go back to read the earlier books, you will recognise a lot of the characters, and already know what happens to them!

I would buy the whole lot and power through, personally. Waterstone's are doing a 3 for 2 offer on Abercrombie at the moment, so you can pick up the trilogy for a good price while you're at the signing :)

I must say, his signing schedule on this tour is impressive! I'm going to one in Manchester tonight!
