I have read the outstanding "A Talent for War" and the very good "The Devil's Eye" in this series. I have "Polaris queued up and ready to go. But I have a question that someone here might be able to answer: "Why did he change the point of view from Alex Benedict in the first novel to his assistant "Chase Colpath?"

Is it possible that novels with male leads do not sell as well? I certainly don't find Chase uninteresting, but I find Alex very interesting. It seems to me that there must be some reason out there for starting a series about a character and then move that character from primary to secondary. Both knowledge and speculation about this are appreciated.

I suppose this is what I get for asking the question and then asking myself, Hmmm, I wonder if there is something on line about that question. There is. Here is the link. Comments: Polaris

He has his reasons, but I'm not so sure they make sense.

I'd still like to debate this a bit.
