Hi All,

On a good recommendation I'm currently reading Shogun by James Clavell and have to say it is absolutely magnificent. It's been such a long time since a book has kept me reading until 4am (two nights in a row!) and I can't wait to pick it up again.

Anyone else on here read it? If so have you read any others in the series and are they as good as Shogun?

Cheers

Crooksy.

I've moved your thread from General Book Discussion to Historical Fiction because ... well, it's historical fiction, and it might get more responses here.

Ok thanks Teresa

Biodroid - as far as I'm aware it's James Clavell's most famous novel and a really good read I honestly can't put it down. When reading in bed at night I don't want to go to sleep so I can carry on reading! It's the fist part of his Asian saga of which I believe there are 5 or 6 novels in total. Here are the links to wikipedia and amazon to give you some more info....

Shogun: The First Novel of the Asian saga: A Novel of Japan: Amazon.co.uk: James Clavell: 9780340766163: Books

It was also made into a mini-series which I believe is very good.....

I read it over twenty years ago and thought it was fantastic. I might have to go back and read it again now that you have brought it back into my mind.
