Henry Kuttner's influence on a HPL story?

Weird how Poe dense, oldish literary style of that century didnt bother me enough to adjust even. One of the first time i found pleasure in a dense writing style that didnt flow like the usual prose styles i liked.

I find him extremly rewarding and not only because his strong, vivid horror stories. His detective stories are timeless.

Yep. Several of the different types of tales Poe wrote are quite wonderful. His prose poems, such as "Silence -- A Fable" and "Shadow -- A Parable", for instance, are extremely powerful, concentrated pieces, while some of his sketches, such as "Morning on the Wissahiccon" are charming and transport the reader amost bodily to the sylvan scene. Even some of his humorous pieces are delightfully wry and funny (some, of course, make one wonder if Poe was sober when he wrote them). At his best, Poe was master of one of the most exquisite prose styles America has ever seen...
