Really? I didn't think that at all

Fair enough. It just feels to me that King has tremendous openings to his books, and he tends to build up the tension so well throughout the story, that when it comes to the final encounter it just doesn't live up to what's gone before. I do think that he has more than his fair share of happy endings though.
