Shadowthrone and collitain? Spoilers.GOTM

Hi i've just started reading erikson and im half way through GOTM.
Um how long did it take you to notice that Shadowthrone and his patron saint of assassins are Dancer and the former emperor of the Malaz?

I came to the conclusion early on in the book when it was first discussed in detail, about shadow throne being a new house, appearing only after the emperors disapearence, and their beef with the empress was personal.

So among other things. Am i supossed to have guessed it this early?

I suspect each reader is different in their discovery of an author's little secrets, red herrings and such. IIRC it took me longer but then I rarely 'think' as I read - unless it is a mystery. In any case, it certainly shouldn't harm your enjoyment of the stories.

nah to the reader its evealed in gotm, but only solidified in the late books, whereupon its suddenly common knowledge, i did mislike that point
