Prestigious award for Jean-Luc Picard...?

Well Shakespeare is where he came from,its his first love. Some may see it the other way,that in the 80s it was strange to see this Shakespearean actor doing,ahem,sci fi,and on TV too. Good lord! ;)
 
Only trouble is, I saw his Claudius and he was rubbish! Even fluffing his lines the night we went.

He was a good Prospero and an adequate Antony for the RSC a couple of years ago so I thought the part in Hamlet would be a cinch for him. Not so.

So why did he win? Luvviedom? Look out for nominations for both him and Ian McKellen for Godot next year, regardless of merit.
