I am looking for a book I read once

It told a story of a group of humans running from bad aliens in a spaceship when they found a fleet of planetoid sized ships which were indestructible. They were so big they were amazing. There were bands of hatches around the ship in lines with moveable hatches that were round and rotated out of the way. These humans used these ships and advanced weapons discovered in a fleet boneyard in the middle of no where space. Can anyone help me find this great book again...
