After reading "the beetle colector" and "the secret enemy",I have to say one thing-did anyone else get impresions from reading Doyle that fortold of truly horrid things ahead only to be disregarded trivialy ?

Ive actualy writen stories inspired by both.

Lot 249 iThe Mummy story was a great little horror story. Doyle was a great writer, one the best of all time and not just because of Sherlock Holmes. The literally popularity of the the great detective overshadowed everything else he ever did. It's no small wonder that he came loathe his own creation and he tried unsuccessfully to kill off the character.
