R. Scott Bakker has given a new interview here.

He confirms several things: The Aspect-Emperor will indeed be a trilogy, not a duology as previously planned. The Great Ordeal was just a working title. The first two books are currently called The Judging Eye and The Shortest Path. The Judging Eye is completed and will be published in January 2009 in the UK by Orbit. No word on when it will be published in the USA and Canada. However, Overlook are again handling the US release and Penguin (after initially denying it) are handling the Canadian release.

RSB's SF novel, Neuropath, will be out in May from Orion in the UK and at the end of this year from Tor in the USA.

Thanks for the information.

And a little thread hi-jacking  R. Scott Baker should definitely change name, as it's way too confusing for our bookshop sellers - at least in one store they are constantly keeping one of the The Warrior prophet under B (for Bakker) and The Thousandfold Thought (but with same cover art) under S (for Scott) i.e. almost at the opposite end of their bookcase :D And I'm not even talking about the fact that first book of the trilogy is missing

And to think, you normally have to be quite smart to get a job in a bookshop over here:cool: that's hilarious!
