Re: The Dark Knight: Nolan and Bale’s Batman 2

I loved BB and even thought Bale was a good Wayne. It was good to see the thing stripped down with all the pantomime taken out.Looking forward to Dark Knight,Ledger could be a great Joker, just have to wait and see I suppose.

Re: The Dark Knight: Nolan and Bale’s Batman 2

Enjoyed the strong, convincing story BB had and preferred it to Batman Returns and Batman & Robin. Cant wait for the sequel. The Joker will have to be reimagined just like he was when Batman 89 was made, so I really want to see how they do it.

Re: The Dark Knight: Nolan and Bale’s Batman 2

The Joker is in good hands with Ledger I think

He has just the right face for it if can imagine him as the Joker -

This one may even be better than BB

Re: The Dark Knight: Nolan and Bale’s Batman 2

I never liked Keaton's Wayne, or any of the others before BB, for that matter. Wayne is not only supposed to be serious about what he does at night, he's also supposed to be masquerading as a playboy gadabout by day. None of the actors besides Bale has even come close to pulling that off. Bale has done the best job at portraying ALL aspects of Batman and Bruce Wayne.

I can't comment on Ledger's Joker until I see what Nolan intends, and what Ledger does. I can imagine a few other actors doing Joker (I'd love to see Mark Hamill take a shot at it!), but until I know more about Nolan's take on the character, I'll reserve comment.

I will say this: The pre-BB Batmans sucked. All of 'em. No exceptions.

Re: The Dark Knight: Nolan and Bale’s Batman 2

I don't know about definitive but I thought Nolan's Batman film was definitely boring and overwrought taking ages to tell a story that does nothing to bring me closer to the character or see him as particularly complex (not to mention astoundingly pap dialog like "it's not who you are underneath, it's what you do that defines you" repeated twice by a scripter who no doubt considers it one of the cleverest lines ever).quote]

I'm in the army and that line resonated a helluva lot with me. I see a lot of people who spend a lot fo time talking about how they wanna make the world a better place and so on and quite frankly I don't see any action. Well here I am in Iraq, and who people remember me as will be defined by what I did not some sentiment I uttered about "oh it's terrible that there are people killing each other over there." I question whether or not you're qualified to coment on the developed depth of a character with whom you obviously do not identify, I'm also curious about what you thought of V for Vendetta, which also stirred me deeply, as did Equilibrium and Dark City.

The Dark Knight . . . .

Summary: The continuing saga of Batman trying to save a desperate Gotham City from crime & corruption. This time Batman teams up with a new district attorney (Harvey Dent) against a madman know only as the Joker.

Director: Christopher Nolan
Cast: returning
Status: in development
Release Date: summer 2008

Re: The Dark Knight: Nolan and Bale’s Batman 2

A new suit for the Dark Knight . . .

The Joker, Harvey Dent, and a new bat-suit(key plot twister)makes this a must-see film for all ...

According to an inside source, Batman changes suit's halfway through the movie, and this is considered to be a plot-point. And it will also reveal why-and-how this happens. The Dark Knight is due to hit the theaters in the summer of 2008

Re: The Dark Knight . . . .

I can't wait, it should be pretty good, and i can't wait to see their take on the Joker. Also I think I may have heard this somewhere, and it makes sense, that we will see Harvey Dent's origin as Two-Face... so all in all I'm excited.

Re: The Dark Knight . . . .

If you search IGN.com: Games, Cheats, Movies and More for "Dark knight" then it should throw up all the Batman news relating to the film.

I can't wait for this new one. I've always been a fan of the Batman films, and the last one with Bale was by far my favourite.

Re: The Dark Knight . . . .

Nolan's vision of Batman is the best so far, so i am looking forward to the new film.

Re: The Dark Knight: Nolan and Bale’s Batman 2

pics of Heath Ledger as Joker are out. Any google search will pull them up.

Re: The Dark Knight: Nolan and Bale’s Batman 2

Bale made a good Batman, however I found him wholly unconvincing in the role of Bruce Wayne - Millionaire playboy.
The thing about batman is anyone can play him, it's just acting with your chin. Nailing the part of Bruce Wayne takes effort and the only person so far to have really got that down was Michael Keaton.
I also found the film a little boring in the middle, I wasn't impressed with the plot, or the Scarecrow who seemingly had little to do considering. I thought te ending on the train was a little to reminiscent of Spiderman2 and the fact Gordon was driving the batmobile was pushing things a little.
Having said that I will still go and see The Dark Knight in the hope that, even though Heath Ledger as Joker :s, it will be an improvement on the first.

There many things that annoyed the hell outta of me in the movie.

The villains sucked: Which is lame cause Batman has the greatest villains of all heroes. His freaks are unbeatble.

Carmine Falcone being a brittish loser when he was the biggest italian mobsters in the comic. Arent there any italian old actors in hollywood come one.....

Scarecrow was a joke, not dangerous and sick at all.

Ra's Al Ghul being a white irish dude....

Rachel Dawes was usless( this isnt Lois and Clark...)

Bruce Wayne was annoying( too much the playboy) Plus he made all the things in he uses on his own in the comics. Not by giving himself away to Fox by being clear about the techs he need.

Batman acts like Bruce Wayne the playboy in a way people look down on and dont notice him too much. Not playing in the fountain with chicks...

Only Bale,Caine,Freeman impressed me in the movie.

The action sucked. This is Batman a master of 100's martial arts, we should be able to see him fight .....

I enjoyed the action in Batman Begins more than any other Batman Movie. I love the way they showed Batman from the criminal’s perspective thus adding a layer of suspense and mystery missing from any other movie interpretation. I enjoyed the efficiency of the fighting style they designed; no nonsense and brutal. I would have been very disappointed if he started doing Jackie Chan type showy gimmicks.

I think the legend is in good hands. I only hope that he does his own movie and doesn’t have to bow to any studio pressure to make any changes.

Re: The Dark Knight: Nolan and Bale’s Batman 2

Jackie type gimmicky moves? have you ever read Batman?

I also thought it was cool he was a menace to them when he fought scaring them and stuff. That was the only thing they got it right actionwise.

Whatever you think of Jackie Chan and co Batman uses Martial arts to kick villains ass. He doesnt waste time by taking them to the roof with him one and one.

He would clear the room in a min with simple but effective moves, no gimmick stuffs here.

Re: The Dark Knight: Nolan and Bale’s Batman 2

to put it bluntly, jc earlies were about the fights and stunts, his agility basically...his laters were about the comedies and close shaves, his agility in old age:cool:

bw was always about using everything we can use as humen to fight crime - technology, body and mind. batman rocks!!:D

Re: The Dark Knight: Nolan and Bale’s Batman 2

So far, I'm not entirely convinced by the idea for this film. It's been done before almost 20 years ago spectacularly by Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson.
Apparently, it's supposed to be a kinda 'Batman Begins 2' premise, but if thats the case, why couldn't it have been set slightly earlier than the first Batman film?
And I firmly believe that Heath Ledger as the Joker, is one of the worst casting decisions since Timothy Olyphant in the Hitman movie. But then again, that movie is just backwards anyway.

Bring back Tim Burton!

Re: The Dark Knight: Nolan and Bale’s Batman 2

Chris Nolan is good with movies like Prestige but he doesnt know how to make Batman and his world come alive...

Because Batman Begins has no relation to the Burton Batman movies just like 1989 Batman had no relation to the 1966 Batman movie (or the 1943 movie). Burton changed the story and made Joker the killer of Bruce's Parents but in Batman Begins they went back to the original source and made Joe Chill the killer, just a common thug. I can understand the sentimental attachment to the 1989 Batman. I really loved Burton's sets and I think the Joker was done well but I was never sold on Keaton as Batman; he just wasn't scary.
