I did just successfully l revive a long dormant Lovcraft Thread from 2002 .

Specifically I wondered about requests for identification of stories and books. I wonder what is the oldest outstanding request. It would be interesting if after all these years someone here could nail it.

I suppose it's something like this:

"Hey everybody. When I was a youngster my dad was one of the chief waterers at the Hanging Gardens. Anyway one day he brought home a clay tablet from the library and read us this really neat story about a guy who lost his best buddy and who fought some kind of monster. I know that's not much to go on, but I thought maybe somebody would recognize the story. It's been bugging me for years. Thanks in advance."
