Short story collecting dead after space battle

Hi

I am looking for a story I lost when I sold a load of my books when I moved to Germany.

Story is about 2 people, think a man and a woman and they are collecting the dead after a titanic space battle. They are collecting both sides and there is little difference between them. Then it gets weird, they find a female corpse, frozen solid and the woman collector freaks out, puts it in a wedding dress and is crying over it - turns out it is her daughter, killed in the battle. End of story. it's a good story that stays with you for years. Sadly the book that it was in did not stay with me. Anyone know it?

That was a great reply. You know what? I have that book and I just found the story after you directed me to it. I thought it was in a short story compilation. I have several thousand books and after a while things get away from you, especially if you have sold quite a few.
