not that I am against causes for charity - but err is it bad that I have never heard of this book--- or why I am left wondering why it was not published - surly more funds could have been raised by a new book - even if Harry was not in it

Rowling wrote six copies as a thank you for people who helped her with the HP series. She then made a seventh copy for the cause of charity. I think.

Still, there are tons of Harry Potter fans out there that would want to purchase a copy of this book. She could have donated the proceeds, or most of the proceeds, to charity, and it would have been a much larger amount...I would think.

Lady, she did donate the proceeds of the sale to charity -- all £1.95million of it. This seventh copy was specifically produced for that purpose.

I know that she did. I just thought that if she made it available to fans to purchase, she would have been able to donate a higher amount, that's all.
