Is it just me or does Robin Hobb telegraph some of the "secrets" in the story way before Fitz figures them out? I finished reading Assassin's Apprentice a few days ago and while I enjoy her style immensely, I can't help but go "Arrgh!" every time Fitz puzzles over something because I could see quite clearly who was behind what was happening. And yet, here was Fitz, supposedly gifted with an exceptional ability to understand people and their motives and great at intrigue, who can't figure anything out at all. In fact, he consistently underestimates his principle opponent while being extremely competent in dispatching all of his duties in other areas.

I'm now reading Royal Assassin and I see the same pattern emerging again, though I'm not sure if my assumptions this time around are correct or not because I have not completed the book :)

So my question is, is it just me?

I cant says I noticed... bet I will next time though now it's been pointed out to me lol
