The Best and Worst Gemmell Character

My favourite is Jon Shannow, although there are a lot of others that deserve mention, as most people already have, funny that, like Skilgannon and Parmenion. I like what he did with Odysseus in his latest books as well.

My least favourite book would have to be Iron Hands daughter, or whatever it was called. It just seemed a bit weak by Gemmel's standards

Daniel Cade was awesome, I just read wolf in shadow. He rocked. And Shannow obviously. Didn't like Abbadon though he was a weak bad guy for me.

jaim grymauch has to be my favourite something about him is very likeable i also quite like connavar or skillgannon

I agree. Ironhand's Daughter and The Hawk Eternal, while ok books were absolutely nothing on anything else he ever wrote. I think the character of Sigarni was just nowhere near as strong as a lot of the others he's created.

Hi i am new as well
I think that Connvar, Rage, Stormrider, Jaim Grymuch, Skilagonnan, Mannan, chaeros, Ulric and the Moidort are good

But I Agree that Sigarni is a poor character as well as Landis

Very hard to choose the best. I mean you have the dual personality of Dace/Tarantio, the tormented Skilgannon and his descented Decado or the abandoned Bane. All lovable characters among so many that DG created.

The worst...well I really can't think of any as I haven't read his books in quite a while.

Its great seeing the love for Rigante characters, i thought Drenai being the biggest series and prolly the most popular DG has done would own this vote.

The best: are tied for me beteween Connavar and Jaim Grymauch. Connavar was everything likeable, cool, smart etc

Jaim was the most loveble in the hole series, i smiled when i was reading about him. He is the one that made me feel the most for him, he was funny and wise when needed. As they say in the book, he stood for the best of what Rigante are.

The worst: Braefar, he was a scum from the start to the end. His demise i enjoyed reading about the ******* :)

well when we look at it they say the Morrigu's gifts are double eged- when Connavar became famous no one really paid attention to him while he was in his brothers shadow. And the only reason why he was there was cause he did nothin important to the rigante

Yeah i know his excuse. He said that many times in the books. Many werent as a big hero like Con but they did thier best for thier people. Like Gonnavan and many others.

Still i thought he was only a weak coward until you know the end and what he does to his brother.

What? the guy was such a *******. You remember when he told Conn about how his first love went and got married, telling him only cause he knew it would hurt him more than his injuries from the bear.

From there i disliked the guy and he gave me more and more reason as the time went on.

Dont tell me you like the guy? Why cause you hate Connavar?

i didn't like Brafear and i do like Connavar. what i am trying to say is that David created Brefear for those reasons

I think some of the best characters to come out of his books are from Lion of Macedon. The minor characters like Mothac, Nicanor and Bernios are all among my favourites

I know why he created him. Braefar was made so cowardly and weak so well that you cant help to dislike him. DG did a great job there, its not often you found a character that annoys you so much.

By worst i thought meant character i didnt like cause and not a character that was made badly.

Heck i liked the so called bad guys more than Braefar in Rigante.

How can everyone hate Sigarni. She's your typical passive/aggressive woman trying to do right by her people who has no idea where to start? Of course she doesn't take to leading her people, she's more or less just a ranger that finds out she's a royal. I loved her and how she killed the scum in the prison. LOVED her. This is the book that made me love david gemmell!

umm too many favorites but i guess least favorite book would be Echos of the Great Song, the character's just didn't have the staying effect that his other books had with me.

Which book is Sigarni from?

i have read 270 of 300 something of Ghost King in siprassi tales and so far i cant stand the selfish and childish girl Lathia

Oh that is the series about a female lead that are about to save her land or something?

I think i read a review of it.
