Hi this is Althy I have actually spotted a mistake in your book list. You said tha tGuardians of the West was released in 1985 but actually according to Amazon it was released in March 1987

Perhaps it's been re-released and in 1987. The site I use for information often has the original date shown in brackets and then links to Amazon which quite often has a different publishing dates.
So I can only surmise that the Amazon dates are later publications.

check the publishers page info. although unless a first edition, i don't think the publishing date really matters. most of my collection was published 1992 or older, except the firsts.

'Guardians of the West' was, indeed, first published in 1987.

There was also, alongside the trade hardcover, a limited edition of 250 copies of 'The Rivan Codex'.

The UK hardcover first editions of the Belgariad novels are hugely collectable. There's a nice complete set, all signed, available currently on a well-known booksellers site for a little over £3,000

Try this link for the Internet Speculative Fiction Database. It is a great resource if you have questions about release dates or are trying to find a short story title.

Steely- I have been coveting the Century hardcovers of the Belgariad for a long time. I have never found a copy for less than $300 ...sigh
