The House

gs: Stephanie Wyder (Lindsay Davis) Kristen Dalton (Dana Bright) Anna Hagan (Vera Smith) Anita Adams (31 year old Vera Smith) Noah Beggs (Young Herbert Smith) Jodie Graham (Young Gene Purdy) Patric Coulter (5 year old Johnny Smith) Wes Wain (Lindsay's brother) Wendy Morrow Donaldson (Mrs. Runyon)

Johnny moves into his new house and starts having visions of a tub filled with blood. He also sees visions of his dead mother, and comes to believe that Rev. Purdy killed his mother. The facts seem to suggest that Purdy did indeed engage in a cover-up concerning the death of Johnny's mother. In a final confrontation Johnny touches Purdy and gains a vision of Purdy finding Johnny's mother dead by suicide. Realizing what the death of a child can drive a parent to do, he goes to the aid of a local neighbor girl whose brother died on a military mission and whose mother is preparing to kill herself.

This episode was great, I specially enjoy the visions Johnny see of his mother and father, also how he thinks that Purdy kill his mother and when confront him finds out the true about his mothers death. Also love the story of the girl next door.
Very touching episode. :p

Also thought this was quite a good episode.

Loved the effects of the bath filling with blood everytime Johnny walked in. I must admit my first feelings were that Rev Purdy had something to do with Johnnys mothers death.

The young children who were spying on Johnny were quite funny too but at least he did get to help one of them and saved her mum's life.

I also think the same, they really portray the doubts of Johnny very well. :D

Mostly good episode - my favourite elements were definitely the flashbacks. Seeing the costume party was wonderful - especially in terms of the cuts between what Johnny was seeing and reality.

The bathtub filling with blood - reminds me of an old horror movie I watched when I was little, in which the plumbing of an entire house started overloading and spraying blood all over the place. Also reminiscent of Kubrick's The Shining.

I thought the convenient parallel of what was happening in the little girl's house was trite, and overplayed. That entire family seemed a bit strange - was the father abusing the girl? Was she adopted? It was confusing and there were many mixed signals...

I really like David Ogden Stiers - Rev Purdy. But I hope to see a lot more of his sinister side in the future.
