Bear in mind that it is likely that more recent movies will likely have an advantage as members see new releases. I think it is quite a good overview of science fiction films, I can't think of any that should be in here, but that haven't rated.

I have seen 42 - not bad going, several of the ones I have never seen I haven't actually heard of. How many have you seen?

Abre Los Ojos
Lost Horizon
La Cité des enfants perdus
The Invisible Man
Lilo & Stitch
Seconds
Delicatessen - I think I have seen this one actually, but only part of it.
Incredible Shrinking Man

Check this link for info on how the chart is calculated, and for the bottom ten movies (none of which I have seen ;) ):

I've only seen 29 myself, some I haven'g gottena round to and some I've never heard of. Still...over half so that's not to bad all in all.

I've only seen 14. I'm surprised a Star Trek movie made on there (no. 44).

Well, the Wrath of Khan is generally regarded as being the best Trek movie, so perhaps that encouraged more people to give it a higher rating. I guess if it had been a stand-alone it might not have rated so well. It certainly doesn't match up to many of the other 49 films.

I have thought of one that is missing: Cube - I love that film! High concept SF - and has the story been done before? Not to my knowledge.

I think I managed about 33. A little hard to see 'Lilo and Stitch' and 'Donnie Darko' before they got released in the UK.

I want to see 'Frequency' and 'Brazil', I just never have for ome reason.

As regards to your list of not seen, Tabitha:

'Abre Los Ojos' -- that's the original Spanish version of 'Vanilla Sky'.

'Lost Horizon' -- is an old but good, explorers discover a lost civilisation in the Himalayas, with magical powers, Shangri La, type idea. I think 'She' is a better film though, not sure if they are classed as sci-fi or action adventure films -- more like an early 'Indiana Jones' really.

'Incredible Shrinking Man' -- excellent film, the special effects were good for its time, now they are laughable -- possible remake in the works.

Frequency and Brazil are both very good. Abre Los Ojos is on my horizon - I have started using www.movietrak.com to order rental dvds, I have found the service very good, and they have quite a good range of movies.

The other two you mention are still not ringing any bells, but I will certainly keep an eye out for them :D
