Song Book Of Middle Earth

Eysteddffordd (pronounced Ice-teth-forth for the non sharrag y Cymru among us i.e. Me)

Ancient druid/Celtic cultural event perpetuated by the Welsh.

The Llangollen International is, strangely, open to international participants. The Roumanians seem to win a substantial number of the prizes.

Froncyslyte is a small village about a league down the road from Llangollen and is typically Welsh- dozen houses, eight chapels and a pub

Llanfairpwyllgwyngyll.

I'm the other side of the straits, amongst the trolls and dwarfs

Simple answer. No!

I'm not Welsh and can only manage the local Covey on a bad day and things are going very badly. I'm from somewhere much closer to the Shire, as described.

I might be able to drag something suitably dwarfish from amongst the books in the library

A Sonnet to the Wind of Inspiration

It comes from up on high,
Sweeping o’er all the land.
Makes mountains into sand,
It parts with but a sigh.
And it goes rushing by,
My mental walls undammed,
As it controls my hand,
Sings to me while I lie.
A breath so fresh and clear,
Into my hungry lungs,
Amongst the words a blend,
From my mouth to your ear,
Into another song,
Carried forth on the wind.

Skip you are so unbelievably talented! that is soooo good!

Spring's Dove

Nah, Leggy. And kewl on the stuff!
This was one I had to do, lothlorien in a season thru the eyes of another creature. Don't know if I write like an el but I fele like it now anyway;)

I see the sun come and with it bring,
The fresh morning of the early spring.
And the coo- and the coo-
Fresh crisp air, the forest aglow,
As the world goes on below.
And to coo- and the coo- and the cool breeze blows.

A babbling brook with water fresh,
Cooling liquid my thirst to quench.
And the cree- and the cree-
Gentle heat on grateful back,
And nothing do I seem to lack.
And the cree- and the cree- and the creeper grows.

The high mallyrn they glow brightly,
As they sing with wind so lightly.
And the cah- and the cah-
I float on high with the current,
Bucking, billowing, nature's child errant!
And the cah- and the cah- and the calm corn sows.

With twig and leaf obeying,
Woven into a holder swaying.
And the coo- and the coo-
With open mouths requesting,
Are the sweet voices of the nestling.
And the coo- and the coo- and the coo-ing bird.

Far in the sky may I,
Often I' the day fly,
And the coh- and the coh-
Lowing cattle, maaing lamb,
From the ewe sheep and the ram.
And the coh- and the coh- and the colt runs free.

With twig and leaf obeying,
Woven into a holder swaying.
And the coo- and the coo-
With open mouths requesting,
Are the sweet voices of the nestling.
And the coo- and the coo- and the coo-ing bird.

This is the last one I post. BTW, I got promoted in Elendor after this! Theya sked me to do a sad one:(

The daylight draws to an end,
Light on the h’rizon bends,
And I am left alone.
I see the darkness rising,
The silence so enticing,
And I am on my own.

Once the dream rang brightly,
And the song sang lightly,
But now the time has gone.
For all the dreams are gone now,
And find them I know not how,
And all the time is gone.

In the once gold meadow,
Now there hangs a shadow,
And the calm has all fled.
The bird that sang so sweetly,
Is now gone completely,
And the peace all but dead.

All around the darkness rising,
In fire and ice baptising,
I see it on and on,
And there is no beginning,
And there will be no ending,
All infinitely long.

For others it is morning,
And the day is dawning,
But for me it’s but a warning.
And in the darkness rising,
I see no starlight brightening,
But night’s cold grip is tightening.

Once through a glass darkly,
But now my eyes they do see,
All about is cold.
And as day is dawning,
Only I am mourning,
Forever on my own.

I couldn't end it cos the song looped in my head.

I think I'm gonna cry...*sniff*

What u get promoted to?

*Sob* that poem....so sad....*sniff* you so talented! *sniffle*

poorly? no ur poem just sad! (in a good way mind)

I used the line 'darkness rising' and a bit of the melody to give me a tune for this one, that's all;)
