Here they are. ALL the known Japanese forms of respect! :D They go at the end of names, such as in Sailor Moon characters... Mako~Chan. Sometimes, they knock out the end sylabel in a name, but that's only in some occasions. I will use SAILOR MOON examples, as it's easier for me!

How polite they are, are enhansed in RED color. The actuall suffix is in BLUE. Here they are....

Politeness..... Most polite....Suffix......~sama

"~sama" This is for the up~most respect and politeness. It is used for a parents, and Boss's etc....

Politeness...Professionals....Suffix....~sensei

~sensei is used for Docters, teachers, etccc. anyone who is an expert in their field. For example, a tecaher may be called by her name, with the suffix at the end, such as Miss Haruna in Sailor moon, converted into Haruna~sensei. However, sometimes it is more usual to just say Sensei to the person it is directed too!

Politeness....Normal Politeness.........Sufix....~san.

~san is used normally, to address people that havn't got the type of respect descibed above.

Politeness.....Senior Students (at a school, or college etc....)....Suffix.....~senpai

~senpai is a title for an older school mate. It implies that you respect and look up to the person. However, it is sometimes used by friends, even though it is a formal term. SOMETIMES, girls may use it to greet theit boyfriends, if the boyfriends are older.

Politeness....Less formal......Suffix.....~kun

~kun is used between friends mosr regualry, and is also used to address someone more junior than yourself. Is usually only used for males. But it is used by bosses to greet junior employess of either gender also!

Politeness........Least formal.....Suffix..........~chan

~chan is when talking to friends or relatives. In Sailor Moon for example, the girls call each other Ami~chan, or Mamo~chan etc...

Politeness......Pet names.....Suffix......~chan

~chan can also be used to describe people that are cuter than yourself. DONT LET THE NAME FOOL YOU! Pet names in Japanese are also to describe babies, young children etc... It is mostly used to describe girls that are younger than you.

Politeness.........Pet names....Suffix....~ko

~ko is used like color=blue]~chan[/color], but is used for people relative same age, and also for people regarded as "cute".
