I only managed to catch the last 10 minutes, so I still haven't seen enough to make a proper judgement. But I think I've seen enough to say that it cannot be half as bad as T-girl has been making out. There have been some really dire series that deserve to be ridiculed, this is definitely, not one of them!

u needed to see that whole ep Dave, as he was time looping and it was quite funny...

I do think this is one of the better series at the moment..i'd rather watch this than Andromeda anyway ;)

I really like this show! I did wonder how they were going to find new disasters every week but it's turning out really well in my humble opinion! Did anyone see the one where Parker was split in two? That was a nerve wracker especially when he got shot.

As mod of this little thread I just thought I'd throw in my two cents regarding everything

Firstly, everyone is entitled to their own opinion so feel free to post why you do or don't like the show, it might spark some lively debate which is always fun.:D:D

Secondly, I'm from Australia so I've seen quite a few epys I think we were somewhere in the second season before ch10 took it off. But I can tell you, it gets better. By mid way through the first season its pretty good. Not as good as farscape I'll admit, but good enough.

Well thats about it :):)

i do like it, but i missed the 2nd part of the one where he got split in two :(

we're still just getting into S1 over here in blighty :D

"Where is Blighty?"

Blighty
A slang term used by British servicemen abroad to refer to Britain. It originated with the British Army in India, and comes from the Hindi word bilyati 'foreign land'. it is associated particularly with World Wars I and II, but remains in use today.

Nothing to do with 'Seven Days' but educational for Colonials!

cool

I'm english and I must say I've never heard that term "blighty" before :D:D

so thanks for the info dave :D:D

I'm sorry, but I still haven't seen this properly. It's on too early for me, I keep forgetting to video it, and even if I did, when I would find time to watch it I don't know.

Also, although I am not knocking it in any way whatsoever , I originally thought that it would be a time-travel-concept, but from the reviews of it that I've read, that is just something to hang the action kick-butt storyline around, and could usually be dispensed with. This view may be wrong, please reply if so. But I have heard there are no killing-your-grandfather paradoxes or anything of that sort in it. So, really it is not something I would usually go out of my way to watch.

there was a part today where parker was trying to figure out that be must be living a year every 8 months due to going back so many times during the year, and that he was possibly getting younger due to travelling close to the speed of light... but they dont get into the sci part of sci-fi too much in this show...

It is mostly action and character based drama, but to say that the time-travel could be dispensed with isn't true, cos they use it to alter past events, often travelling back more than once to have another attempt at fixing the scenario.. it is quite interesting to watch how the events unfold differently, and Parkers character is very interesting and non-typical of sci-fi lead roles (except maybe Crighton can rival him in the going bonkers stakesa at times ;))

there are lots of interesting time-travel - causality questions we've thought up that havent been answered yet, see the "confused" thread... :)

OK. Thanks for that.

I read a review in 'Dreamwatch' about it which says Seven Days "for the most part ignores all the implications of the time travel premise in favour of straightforward American TV action-adventure fare. The time travel element allows for high stakes and a ticking clock, but don't expect heavy does of high concept SF here."

Obviously, that is not true then. I must make myself video it.

yeah you've really got to watch it and form your own opinion, I find most of the time that if a review says something is crap, its probably good, and vice versa. It all depends on what you like I guess :D:D

"for the most part ignores all the implications of the time travel premise in favour of straightforward American TV action-adventure fare. The time travel element allows for high stakes and a ticking clock, but don't expect heavy does of high concept SF here."

that is fairly accurate i suppose, they do kinda skim over the SF details, but not completely... If you're watching for the 1st time its good to note that Parker is a bit of a loony head case, and is the only one who can really do the back steps on a regualr basis as he has a v high pain tolerance..

The killing-your-grandfather thing wouldn't work anyway in this would it? 'caus Parker doesn't go forward in time again so he would just live with whatever he changed.

If he did go back far enough in time to kill his grandfather, he'd be there, so he'd still exist.
