I enojoyed Fellowship, but not sure if I like the film version of the Two Towers.
Fellowship has a story that moves, but Two Towers has characters that move, but the plot does not.
LOTR was a funny book - I often felt it inconsistent with itself, as if unable to determine whether it would be a light tale like the Hoibbit (cf, Tom Bombadil), or else something darker and more mature (ie, Moria).
I found a few things came across as rushed and garbled - was never keen on the Dead Marshes bit, and the final battle in Mordor read very rushed to myself.
But it has been some years...
It is even longer since I read the Hobbit, but I enojyed that immensely, and actually spent a few days depressed that I didn't live in such a place! LOTR never did that for me. (btw, I was arounsd 14-16 when I last read the Hobbit.)
